Rest in peace my little herb garden... I tried so hard to keep you thriving. You were so pretty and fragrant when I selected and planted you a short 6 months ago. I cared for you diligently and in reward received a few tasty fresh spices for my work. Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Basil and Cilantro, you all looked so pretty on my windowsill in my old bedroom.
But then...you took a turn for the worse. Right before my move poor little Cilantro had grown very tall but very weak and their health was failing fast. I was determined to save you all though and carefully packed you all for the move across town.
Cilantro didn't make it....but the rest of you held on. For the next four months I continued to care for you in your new home in my kitchen windowsill. The thing was though that my house now faced a different direction and you didn't get as much sun as you had in the past. Your soil kept getting dry faster than ever before and although I tried to keep up with watering you, it never did seem to be enough...and the cat munching on you from time to time probably didn't help.
Today it was apparent, that the battle had been lost... Well little herb garden today I laid you to rest. Maybe I will try again in the spring?....until then my windowsill seems lonely without you.
